Dropper bottles, spray bottles and jars are available in a range of colours for functionality and aesthetics. Some colours of glass are particularly beneficial in protecting the product from UV rays. Certain qualities of vitamins, minerals and supplements can deteriorate due to exposure to sunlight, therefore protective packaging such as amber glass or opaque packaging is beneficial.

Additional features that may be added to containers include tamper evidence and child resistance. How many drops of essential oil should I use in a 10ml roller bottle?

Dilution can be around 5-40 drops of essential oil added with a carrier oil to fill the 10ml bottle, but depends on the purpose of the roller and the strength of the oil. For example some essential oils are so strong they may burn the skin if applied without dilution and therefore need to be more diluted.

How many drops in a 10ml bottle of essential oil?

One drop is typically 0.05ml, therefore 200 drops in 10ml of oil.

How many drops in a 5ml bottle of essential oil?

One drop is typically 0.05ml, therefore 100 drops in 5ml of oil.

How many drops in a 15ml bottle of essential oil?

One drop is typically 0.05ml, therefore 300 drops in 15ml of oil.

What dispenser to use for getting essential oil out of a bottle?

Using an inverted dropper allows the user to manage the quantity of oil in dispensing, other options include atomiser spray for delivering a fine mist such as perfume or room spray, or pipettes to dispense drops or measured quantity.

How to open an essential oil bottle?

For inverted dosage units such as roller ball or inverted dropper, a thin object such as the edge of a spoon to run around the rim between the glass bottle and the plastic closure, releasing the seal between them and allowing you to pull out the roller ball or dropper and clean/ refill the bottle.

Most caps are screw off, but more potent oils (such as Wintergreen essential oil) will be fitted with a child-resistant closure meaning you must remove by dual action of pushing down and twisting to remove.
