Lifestyle Packaging is an innovator in sustainable packaging. In recent years we have seen an increase in plastic usage and commercial carbon footprints.
Our teams research design techniques to reduce the use of packaging materials. We also use strategic manufacturing locations to reduce our carbon footprint by producing your products as close as possible to your factory. Lifestyle will continue to work with current and new clients who are launching greener products.
Lifestyle creates unrivalled sustainable packaging for the CBD, e-liquid and alternative healthcare markets. We reduce the use of plastics in the design phase and decrease carbon footprints in packaging supply chains.
Sustainable materials offer one way to create eco-friendly packaging. We choose these materials because they can be created with less impact on the environment. They might also be easier to reuse and recycle.
Some of the sustainable materials available for packaging include:
Green Polyethylene (PE)
This material is made by first taking ethanol from the sugarcane and dehydrating it so that it becomes ethylene. It is then converted into green polyethylene/PET at a polymerisation plant.
Post-Consumer Regrind (PCR)
These recycled plastic products help to save energy and reduce the use of materials. Manufacturing new plastics becomes less necessary when existing plastics can be recycled and used again.
Products that will naturally break down in the same manner as a compostable material can be useful sustainable alternatives to traditional plastics. The primary concern with plastics is that they take hundreds of years to break down, contaminating the environment. The biodegradable material can perform the same functions as traditional plastics but degrades over a much shorter time span.
Polylactic Acid (PLA)
This compostable polymer is created from renewable sources, including corn starch. Research into how this material can be used is ongoing, and there are some limitations to its uses.
If you launch a product that markets sustainability, selecting the right material is crucial. Eco-friendly materials can be used to create high-quality packaging for both solid and liquid substances. The use of these materials is a great strategy to support the global agenda in decreasing plastic wastage. Lifestyle Packaging are here to support your sustainable packaging needs.
Carbon Footprint Calculator
A carbon footprint measures the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by a person, organisation, event or product.
A carbon footprint is measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e). CO2e allows the comparison of different greenhouse gases on a like-for-like basis. CO2e is calculated by multiplying the emissions of each greenhouse gas by its 100-year global warming potential (GWP).
A carbon footprint considers all six of the Kyoto Protocol greenhouse gases: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous oxide (N2O), Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), Perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6).
- Place of production: Basel
- Where are you transporting your product: London
- Total distance: 923km
- Mode of transport: lorry
- Total weight: 35 tones
- Overall CO2e impact per kg: 354.4476194
Lifestyle not only develops new sustainable packaging, our market-leading supply chain also helps reduce your carbon footprint dramatically.
We reduce wastage on air and sea travel by utilising our manufacturing cells across the globe to ensure that we manufacture close to your factory.
